What is a custom hair unit:
A custom hair unit commonly referred to as a man weave is a hair extension for men who are experiencing hair loss due to aging or alopecia/ baldness.
A hair weave is a type of hair extension method where hair wefts are sewn onto braided hair and styled to any desired style.
The beauty of a hair unit, and the reason why it is such a popular method, is how undetectable it is.
It typically depends on both your hair texture and the style you are looking to achieve that determines how blended your hair will be with the hair unit for that overall seamless look.
There are many different ways to install and style a hair weave, One way this method is commonly used is to create custom wigs ranging from color, volume, and texture.
Hair unit are best when they are customized to fit the shape of your head and to frame your face for the most flattering appearance.
When it comes to hair unit/wigs the hair weave method is used in the same way except instead of sewing onto braided hair the hair wefts, or extensions, are sewn onto a wig cap to create the perfect fitting wig.
A different hair unit option that can be made with this method is a partial or U-part wig, which only covers half of the head; this requires a significant amount of your natural hair to be left out for styling.
This could be the best option for those who simply want to add volume or a bit of length to their hair.
As many of us know there are so many benefits of the hair unit, the top two being how convenient they are and how long they last. Choosing the right wig for you can come down to the hair fiber type.
There are so many amazing styles to choose from when it comes to wigs or hair unit. If you ever thought about trying a new color for your hair the options are literally endless and there is no style out of the question.
If you happen to be someone who simply wants to add volume, length or both then a hair weave is just right for you.
Whichever best fits your hair circumstances you can feel comfortable knowing you have so many options to choose from.
So shop around and make your appointment with your stylist today, Your next best hairstyle is waiting for you.
What is the difference between a custom hair unit and a toupee:
Custom hair units are versatile and allow the client to choose from a variety of styles that blend with their natural hair. Units are also more secure than the average toupee.
Ways to keep your hair unit safe and maintain:
A protectant, and an adhesive made for hair is used to keep the unit in place.
Hair weaves need help to remain smelling, feeling and looking fresh, So here are the best steps to take:
Whether you wear a natural or synthetic weave, It needs more careful care than your own hair because it’s missing the natural oils that come from your scalp.
Every seven to 14 days (depending on whether you workout and/or sweat a lot), wet the hair first with lukewarm water and use a mild shampoo.
Add a dime-sized amount of shampoo to your palm and rub it into your scalp with your fingers. Make sure to smooth the shampoo do not rub onto the hair weave.
Never turn your head upside down while washing, as this can tangle the weave permanently.
Scrubbing or bunching your hair could also tangle it; avoid friction whenever you have extensions. Rinse well and allow the weave to air dry thoroughly.
Leave in conditioner:
Apply a leave-in conditioner to the weave, and your natural hair, after each shampoo. A dime-sized amount of product should be enough.
Massage it in with your fingers, coating the gently. For freshening up during these in-between times you do not have to wash again, just apply the leave-in conditioner to the dry hair unit.
Avoid oils because they weight the weave hair down and will cause tangles and matting. If the hair loses it is luster, especially after a few items of washing, you can use a minimal amount of argan oil.
Antibacterial weave spray:
A weave that is braided, twisted or worn in locks will take longer to dry than a weave that’s worn loose.
This lengthy drying time leaves your weave susceptible to mold and bacteria and that musty smell.
Give your weave a light spritz daily to kill bacteria, detangle it and keep it fresh. Use the anti-bacterial spray once a day, working it gently into the weave with your fingertips.
It is best to let your weave air dry (don’t towel dry either!), but if you must use a blow dryer start with the weft, then move to the ends and work your way up.
Stick to the lowest heat setting possible when drying or using heated styling tools. Just like with natural hair, the heat can dry the weave hair and loosen the bond.
Use a wide-toothed comb for straight extensions and finger-style curlier weaves.
Never go to bed with a wet hair unit or weave because it will encourage matting and that musty smell we mentioned.
At night, loosely wrap your hair with a satin scarf but don’t tie it up in a tight style; that will cause tangles as well. Also, try sleeping on a satin pillowcase so not to disturb your weave.

Benefits of Hair unit in Delhi:
Some argue that wearing a weave is not necessarily a protective style, but I believe that if your installation is done correctly (it should not hurt or tug at your edges) then wearing a weave can definitely be a protective way to grow your natural hair.
When you wear a sewn-in weave, your natural hair is braided close to the scalp and hair weft is attached to the cornrows.
Naturally, as you wear the hair, over time, it will experience “wear-and-tear” (which is mainly caused by electronic styling tools and a lack of proper maintenance routine), during this time your natural hair will be protected from the natural elements and styling practices.
Your hair would not be exposed to heat from blow dryers, curling irons, flat irons or hot rollers, nor will it be affected by harsh weather or cotton from your pillowcase and everyday dust around the house.
An effectively your hair will be protected from all of the stuff that can split the ends of your hair and dry it out. Keep in mind that if you want your weave to last longer.
You should limit contact with the above-mentioned styling practices and the constant use of electronic styling tools.
Ok, so this is a half-truth. Ladies, you can not let your hair do all the work, you have to work with her. Low maintenance does not equal no maintenance.
Many of us do not have time to wake up and style our hair, in the mornings and would rather have hair in a way that looks good and is easy to maintain.
If you choose a hassle-free texture, then you can style the hair in a hurry and with little effort.
Synthetic hair weaves usually come pre-styled, which means all you have to do is fluff it, using your fingers or a brush, and you’re good-to-go.
Human hair unit/weaves, on the other hand, offer much more versatility and are just as easy to care for. Weaves are also great holiday hair.
We all know the last thing you want to be doing on your holiday is spending precious time slaving away at your hair.
So wearing a weave while away from your styling tools and your hairdresser will leave you with more time to do holiday things, than hairdresser things.
Want a try a new exotic color or see how you would look with a different texture? Maybe you want to go ultra-short without having to part ways with your natural hair.
With a weave, you can achieve so much. You can experiment with color without worrying about the damage you could cause to your real hair.
This can be especially helpful to women who have to be careful with the types of chemicals they expose their natural hair too.
Platinum blonde has been doing its rounds, but it is a particularly harsh shade to achieve on dark hair, but with a hair unit, your natural hair stays protected, while you rock blonde.
The experimental side does not simply talk to color, some women want to wear their hair straight without having to apply heat or relaxers to achieve this result.
Hair unit is designed to be worn for a short amount of time (even though they can be kept for a couple of years), it is advisable re-install your weave every 6 to 8 weeks depending on how fast your natural hair grows.
Unlike a haircut, which has to grow out, a weave is a low commitment option, which means you dictate everything.
If you are not crazy about how your hair unit style looks, ask your stylist to change it up or take it out.
You are not stuck with a weave forever, which is perfect for women who like to switch things up often.
So the next time you want to change your hair color, length or texture think of a weave as a solution rather than possibly damaging your natural hair.
